Stars and Stripes in the Big Easy

The Southern Chapter of PROTECT AND DEFEND is pleased to announce that they have held the first national event of the year with great success. Over 75 PAD members and guests were in attendance for a weekend of fun and fundraising. Members traveled from across the nation, including California, New York, New Jersey, Mississippi, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Florida, Alabama, Massachusetts, Nevada, Virginia, Texas, Washington, Ohio, North Carolina, Georgia, and Louisiana.
The fundraiser for this event benefitted the New Orleans NO/AIDS Task Force, an HIV and AIDS education, prevention and outreach organization. Protect and Defend was very pleased to issue a donation of $1,700 to NO/AIDS as a result of a raffle held at the Bourbon Pub and Parade in conjunction with this event.
Founded in 1983, NO/AIDS Task Force is one of the oldest and largest AIDS Service Organizations in the Gulf South. They have been providing, hope, dignity and care to men, women and families affected by HIV and AIDS for over 25 years.
Their mission is to reduce the spread of HIV infection, provide services, advocate empowerment, safeguard the rights and dignity of HIV-affected individuals, and provide for an enlightened public.
PROTECT AND DEFEND is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization, per 501(c)(3) of the IRS code. Our intent is to serve the interests of gay and lesbian law enforcement, firefighters, military, and other public safety and justice system workers from all over the world. We are primarily a social organization that intends to organize public and private events with an eye towards charitable fundraising for GLBT organizations.
